I must admit that my heart sank a bit when George Kittle went down and they showed Arik Armstead on the sidelines after the Cardinals had marched down the field for an easy touchdown. Things were looking just a tad bleak. It was a short week and the 49ers looked like they were not ready to play and the man that is quickly becoming my all-time favorite 49er was on the ground writhing in pain. Could the game have possibly started in a worse way?
It was good to see the 49ers loosen up a bit, get some sacks and come back to score three touchdowns in the first half. Then we kept letting them back in the game. When Moseley unsuccessfully jumped that route and let Andy Isabella behind him for a quick eighty eight-yard touchdown, I think I yelled the “F” word three times. Speaking of Moseley, is it just me or did he have a down night? He did not look near as good as he has in previous games.
In the end, it was about Jimmy Garoppolo. The man is a third down converting machine. I love his tenacity and grit. His four touchdowns and 300 yards passing came in handy as well. People questioned whether he could step up when we needed him to and I think they received their answer. I have never questioned his ability since his second game with the 49ers. Jimmy is the man!
